SFERO exists to: further the study, practice, and use of the International Language, Esperanto; to give beginners and experienced speakers opportunities to hear and speak Esperanto; to present programs on topics of importance; and to welcome visiting Esperantists.

Meetings
- Our meetings are open to the public, beginners and the curious are welcome to visit us.
- Our regular meeting is from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the free, publicly available, meeting room in Golden Gate Park, behind the Police Station at Kezar Stadium (1899 Waller St, San Francisco, CA 94117). See 511.org for information about BART and mass transit to the event.
- We meet on the first Saturday of each month, except:
- In January, we replace the usual meeting with our Annual ZAMENHOF Dinner. - date and location to be decided
- May meetings are usually in Oakland. Please make contact for details.
- July and August, there is no formal meeting, but some time during the summer we have at least one outing together. And maybe a picnic too! :)
- September, due to the Labor Day weekend, we MAY meet during the SECOND Saturday.

Conversational Groups

- San Francisco: Monthly, every 2nd & 4th Wednesday evening, at Cafe International, 508 Haight Street, San Francisco 94117. If you'd like to participate, please contact Steĉjo at schwichs@gmail.com or [415] 680-0848 before coming!
- Stanford: There are classes in "Conversational Esperanto" with discussion group, at The International Center at Stanford University on Tuesday evenings during the Academic year. See Esperanto at Stanford for all the details.
